''The Navy Seals had failed thus proving that Elba was definitely more than a green dot on our maps to our enemies too.
With the ''Frontenac'' and ''Champlain'', the two new Allied aircraft carriers fresh from Montreal's drydocks on their way to the Italian Coast, it was made clear to all Allied commanders that Eisenhower had agreed with Lieutnant General Francois ''Frank'' G. and Admiral Jean-Sebastien C. 's plan of invading Corsica and Elba as the first steps to somehow cut or divert Axis reinforcements from their ongoing operations in the Middle-East and give some reprieve from the besieged Marine divisions.
While Corsica's landings went smoothly with minimal life losses, Elba was another problem altogether with the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and even what seemed to be (but is still unconfirmed) SSU submarines waging a relentless war to the Allied Navy around the island. Still, for all their enemies' strenght, the new Allied aircraft carriers and anti-submarine tactics developped by Pelican pilots allowed the Canadians to continue with the operations and begin the landings.
Thus started one of the fastest and bloodiest campaign the world had seen: Elba's Campaign.''
Welcome to Campaign Elba, the desperate defense from German Blutkreuz divisions as well as various Wehrmacht's Zverograd veterans to protect the Axis Island's secrets and scientists from an Allied invasion as well as Smersh and Soviet Navy.

Wilkommen auf dem Mond
As you step out of the shuttle that brought you into the Moon's industrial area, you cannot miss it, the Haas-Bioroid corporation's factory: The Foundry.
It is here that new technologies are being developped and it will be here that you will steal their secrets. Corporate espionage at its best!

First, a little run on their HQ servers to see what's coming up...What is this? Did this firewall just modifiy itself to have more subroutine?
Cellphone Pictures
Hello readers! Been a long time since I wrote anything on the blog...It is in huge part due to an unfortunate accident in which my battery charger for my camera was lost...And now I can't post picture until I get a new one. Combine that to huge expenses happening in my personal life and I'm sad to say I'll be posting 'cellphone pictures' (ah the infamy!) until the end of Spring 2015.

Unboxing: Arena Rex
Fresh from Red Republic Games, I've received my (modest) pledge reward. Sadly, I won't be able to show the Titan i had selected, Leo, as he was missing in the box, but they already sent me my missing model and thus it should be here in about 2 weeks. I honestly wish I had pledge for twice as much minis though, as it is I will only be able to do 3vs3 on my minis alone.
When the campaign started, I was already biased as I had received a promotional Aquila during a contest and was very much impressed. I'll go over the rules after, but for now, let's see what was in my box.
I removed the foam beans to unveil the content. I guess they had only this box size as it was way larger than the content. Let's go over the content.
So we have a pack of cards, a rulebook, a bag of minis, bases, tokens and 10 Favor Dices with laurels for the 6. I won't go in more details over the bases and dices.
Here are the art cards for each model included as well as a quick guide on working with resin, that's a nice touch. Many people are not used to work with that material. Not that I'd really suggest a neophyte to start with thisgame's models because of the number of parts. The art cards are in a good cardboard and the pictures are very nice. Reminds me a lot of Kingdom Death, which is a very positive thing.

And here are the unit cards. Once again, very nice material, solid and glossy. They are easy to read as well.
The rulebook is small and concise. A bit of fluff and the rules, with a few scenarios at the end. The rules themselves are simple and brutal (but not simplistic) and the scenarios are more diverse than I expected, this being a gladiatorial game, after all.
So that's about it. What? oh yeah! the minis! Now I will do a part 2 for the assembled miniatures once I do receive Leo, but until then, I'll show you the minis on their sprues.
Ur-Kek, a big brutal egyptian.
Mago
Ban-Luca, a friend for my Aquila.
Zahra, she do love scorpions.
Lupa, the kickstarter exclusive fighter.
Tiet-Khebi, an egyptian priestess.
I hope you liked this small unboxing, and I shall be back in a few weeks for more Arena Rex.

Rivet Wars: Or How a Kickstarter Can Be a Second Christmas
Early this year, in May to be more precise, I had made a little battle report and review of a Kickstarter game that I had backed: Rivet Wars.
I had rated the game 8/10 (for what my judgement is worth :P) as it had been a very enjoyable experience and I did not regret whatsoever the money I had spent in this kickstarter.
You can click here: to read this review and battle report
Now couple of months later, I got a text from my friend Paul telling me he had received more Rivets for me.
I knew some Rivet stuff was on its way but I clearly DID NOT expect how much was on its way...

High Command: Discarding Trollbloods
Having recently received my Castle of the Keys, I used a little free time, never enough of that, to sort my High Command collection into the binders...and of course, as soon as I was done I wanted to try and build a new Trollblood deck...
A couple of cards intrigued me from Castle of the Keys, for Trollbloods these were, well, all of them.
In the end, during deckbuilding, I decided to go with a well known Trollblood theme: discarding, making me focus on the Troll light warbeasts.
Sadly for me, Privateer Press High Command designers did their job right to

GV Brasstards : an epic Warmachine/Hordes Team Tournament Saga
The Chaosludik Warmachine Team Mega battle report!!
Yesterday was a big day for the Montreal 's wargaming community as it was the beginning of Chaosludik: a two days gaming convention with tournaments for Warmachine/Hordes, 40k and warhammer fantasy.
Earlier this year, a friend of mine and blogger on this blog DanM had expressed his wishes to mount a team for the Team Warmachine event happening on Saturday. Being a great fan of team events, I volunteered to be part of it and so did my boss DanT (yeah "Daniel" is a popular first name around here).
