40k Orks: Da Divershun From Da Skies (Blitza-Bommer)

Gulark laughed as the shots poured from his Blitza-Bommer down on his fellow footslogging orks. A stray shot exploded one of them and Gulark let out one of his famous “Wooops! Right place, wrong time!! …. or somefink like dat…”

-"Why are ya firin’ boss? Are there enemies already?” Antor, the gretchin sitting in the back of the cockpit, asked in his screechy little voice.
-"Naw, its da usual warnin’ shots" replied Gularķ who liked to fire at his own troops to “warn them” he’d be the first to battle the enemy.
Deep inside, Antor was worried Gulark wouldn't resist the temptation to drop another “warning bomm" on his fellow greenskins like last time and that they would have to hide at the camp from the warboss and his nobz from what seemed an eternity. You don’t make the mistake of severely damaging your warboss’ battlewagon twice, in fact you try not to make it at all but Gulark had always been a little bit too “trigger happy" even by ork standards.
However Antor refrained from making any comments as it most likely would involve an answer where he’d be the one thing dropping from the plane mid-flight.

He was relieved a couple of minutes after as Gulark bellowed a big “Waaagh" while pressing that one big red button on his dashboard: the Blitza-Bomma’s engine engaged in super sonic mode and they hurled toward the enemy lines: they would have ran out of bomms long before the troops catched back to them.

Big Bomm 1 makes Gulark happy when he releases it.

This Big Bomm is in honour to my Friend Marc's Tau

Big Bomm 2 makes Gulark's foes sad when they receive it. (It also makes them very dead.)

And this Big Bomm is in honour of my Friend Ivan's Death Korps of Krieg

Its been a while since I painted Orks or touched any 40k...There are so many good game systems out there, but the Orks are in only one of them and it will soon be Orktober, the long-awaited Codex for Orks in 8th Edition.
Not a great excuse but it allows me to paint something else than the oranges and neon-greens from my Guildball Alchemists and Hunters and to instead paint lots of Blue as my Orks are Deathskulls/Freebooters.

A Blitza-Bommer might not seem very Deathskulls but sometimes you just have to blow the defenders to bits before you can loot their stuff.

The Ork pilot and Gretchin are a reference to my little brother and myself as we usually make such a great team and he has helped me since my old Ork army and its original ''Flyin' Squig'' Fighta Bomma at a time when the only model available was a super-expensive Forgeworld Resin one...

Ah, the old Fighta-Bommer used for Apocalypses, never fully painted and with the ugliest makeshift flight-stand one could make. Was fun playing with at least!
Da Flyin Squig (I'm still proud of that free-hand even if it is unfinished)

Thats it, nothing else to write, expect a painted Trukk or two soon, maybe some Nobz too, its time to put some blue paint, attract the eyes of the gods and be lucky!
