DUST: Bertolt

MPW II-X ''BERTOLT''

If there is a Walker that caused trouble to the Allies and SSU during their invasion of Elba in 1947, it was the MPW II-X Bertolt.
MPW II-X ''BERTOLT''

Equiped with state-of-the-art Transmission-Interception gear on a bigger scale than previously experimented with, the Bertolt wages a war of a new type : Electronic Warfare.
First brought to the 203 Pzabt stationed on Elba Island, it quickly proved its worth when it slowed down the Allied beach-head on Elba and caused so much disruption Allied Platoons had to wait for carrier pigeons to be able to send and receive orders. Allowing much of the Axis forces to escape Allied Navy's fire.
Axis High-Command is taking great care to avoid any of the Bertolt to fall into enemy hands, as such, they are only slowly and sparingly deployed on the Eastern Front.
Desert warfare has proved a little problematic and scientist are currently working on filters to prevent dust and sand from damaging the Bertolt's sensitive equipment.
Desert's sand is not the only threat that a Bertolt could face and as such, it was equiped with Anti-Air Cluster Missiles in order to prevent allied fighter-bomber from clearing the airwaves.

Anti-Air Cluster Missiles : Mostly used in mainland Germany against the Allies heavy bombers, the Anti-Air Cluster Missiles makes sure the sky is clear and that the Bertolt's precious equipment is preserved from rogue enemy fighter planes.

EW System : Developped from the ''Signal Troops'' project (see p.23 of Dust Sourcebook), the Electronic Warfare System's main use is to intercept enemy radio signals, to jam enemy radars and to cause as much disruption as possible.

Special Weapon Rules :
Defensive Electronic Warfare : No enemy radio orders can be sent or received and Spotters cannot call for indirect fire within 36'' of this model. Aeronca GB-9 Strike and other enemy radio-controlled weapons cannot choose a target within 36'' of this model.

Aggressive Electronic Warfare : Once per turn, this model can spend one action to put a Reaction Marker on an enemy vehicle.

Platoon Dispatch: The MPW II-X ''Bertolt'' can be taken as Additional Support for a Command Squad of any platoon.

Special Note: NONE of this has been playtested at all :), just made it up on the fly to get a basic idea of what the Bertolt is about. Feel free to let me know of any balance changes that should be made. :)

Some more picture of the Bertolt and my Signal Troop just because I'm so proud.
